4" Cocobolo Marking Gauge

Cocobolo is a dense tropical hardwood found primarily in Central America.  It ranges in color from reddish-brown to orange, often with black streaks and subtle to extreme grain patterns.

As of January 2, 2017 the entire Genus of Dalbergia (Rosewood) and all Buginga's are now on the CITES II list of endangered species. What does this mean for my customers? All domestic sales of rosewood will continue as usual. All International orders of rosewood and Bubinga gauges will cease.

Beautifully Made and Works As Expected!

I'm super impressed by this marking gauge! The wood is beautiful and impeccably finished. The action of the head sliding on the beam is smooth yet slop-free. The size is perfect for marking dovetail baselines on small furniture-size parts. Additionally, the gauge shipped very quickly to my house in Washington!

Impeccable! Handy size!

Beautiful wood and impeccable craftsmanship, but what really shines is the practicality of this tool. Fits in your hand and is great for small, medium, and some large jobs. The blade came well sharpened, set at the proper angle for cutting, and the bar travels in its dovetail way cleanly and smoothly. This is the kind of tool I would build! Quality is never cheap, but the value of the tool lives on long after the money has been spent!
